SUMMARY
Bryozoans in this family form erect colonies, comprising a kenozooidal peduncle, supporting an oval capitulum of autozooids, and secured to the substratum by kenozooidal rhizoids, or by a specialised kenozooidal base plate. Autozooids with a subterminal, circular orifice, closed by a sphincter. Embryos brooded within the tentacle sheath. Kenozooids linked by uniporous septula.
