Metroperiella lacunata

Morphology: 

Metroperiella lacunata is an encrusting bryozoan that forms thin sheet-like colonies composed of a single layer of autozooids. Autozooids are hexagonal to irregularly polygonal and convex. They are 0.5-0.7 by 0.3-0.48 mm and arranged in a very clear radial series.

Distribution: 

Metroperiella lacunata has only been collected from the western end of the English Channel.

Habitat: 

The species is presently known only from a few specimens encrusting dead shell,
