General description:
Bryozoans in this family form erect or encrusting colonies. Primary orifice obscured by a deep, tubular peristome; with a tubiform spiramen frontally, opening into the base of the peristome, above the zooidal operculum. Ovicell small, spherical, imperforate, opening into the peristome.
