General description:
Colony repent, or partly erect, composed of branching, uniserial chains of autozooids, or dense clumps of closely packed autozooids. Autozooids regionated, largely comprising an upright peristomial portion, a smaller adnate middle portion, and a variably, developed, tubular proximal portion which may include an extended psedostolon. Embryos brooded within the vestibule. Hibernacula budded from basal portions of autozooids. In fresh or brackish water.
