General description:
Copidozoum exiguum is an encrusting bryozoan common in the Mediterranean. The colonies form small patches on stones, shells and especially the cold water coral Lophelia. The species has only been recorded from depths greater than 180 m and is thought to be restricted to deep offshore habitats.
Copidozoum exiguum has been reported from the Siculo-Tunisian Shelf, the Gulf of Lions, the Alboran Sea, the Gulf of Cadiz, the Bay of Biscay and the western approaches to the English Channel.
