General description:
Copidozoum planum is an encrusting bryozoan, common throughout the Mediterranean. The colonies form thin, lightly calcified sheets, spreading over the substrate. Copidozoum planum is able to colonies shells, stones, coralline algae and Posidonia seagrass, in subtidal waters, down to at least 150 m.
Copidozoum planum is a warm temperate species that is distributed throughout the sub-tropics. It is common in the Mediterranean, extending north to the western approaches to the English Channel.
