General description:
Rosseliana rosselii is an encrusting bryozoan, found in temperate waters. The colonies form small, flat, irregular patches which are brown and often extensive. The autozooids are approximately oval in shaped, arched at the top and narrowing below. They range in size from 0.4-0.58 by 0.22-0.30 mm.
The species is able to colonise shells and stones in subtidal waters. Its exact depth range is unknown.
Rosseliana rosselii is distributed in temperate Atlantic waters. It is widespread in the Mediterranean and known to extend south to Cape Verde. In the British Isles, it occurs in the south and west, and has been recorded from Shetland and Orkney.
