General description:
Steraechmella buski is an encrusting bryozoan, found in deep shelf waters. The colonies form small, irregular patches. Autozooids are oval at the top and truncate or tapered below. They range in size from 0.4-0.55 by 0.25-0.35 mm.
The species is able to colonise hard substrates, in subtidal offshore waters at depths in excess of 100 metres.
Steraechmella buski makes up part of the bryozoan fauna from the European continental shelf, and from the western Mediterranean to Faroe Isles.
