Frontal wall umbonuloid. Orifice with a broad distal shelf extending below the operculum, and prominent denticles on the proximal rim. Oral spines present. Avicularia typically paired, lateral. Basal pore-chambers present. Embryos brooded in hyperstomial ovicells.
