Gigantoporidae
Bryozoans in this family form erect or encrusting colonies. Autozooids with evenly perforated frontal shield. Primary orifice shallowly sinuate, with well developed condyles. Avicularia adventitious; typically paired, lateral-oral, the rostrum of each connected by a peristomial bridge; absent in some genera. Peristome variably developed, often with a complete basal spiramen. Ovicells hyperstomial or partially immersed, imperforate. Vertical wall with basal or mural pore chambers.
