Voorkomen van Schizoporella spec. in De Blauwe (2009). In het KBIN bevinden zich een paar kolonies verzameld op de Vlaamse Banken in 1903 en 1906. Slechts één levende kolonie werd op de Westhinderbank verzameld in 2005. Op 4 november 2000 spoelde een kolonie aan op plastic in Oostende.

Beschrijving van Schizoporella spec. in De Blauwe (2009). Schizoporella met een smal U-vormige sinus die even diep is als een derde van de opening, geaccentueerd door opvallende afgeronde scharnierpunten. De in Oostende aangespoelde kolonie heeft meestal één avicularium dat bijna distaal gericht is. De proximale rand van het avicularium ligt soms ter hoogte van de sinus, maar meestal meer distaal. Er zijn een paar zoïden met een bijkomend vergroot avicularium waarvan het rostrum vrijwel loodrecht staat op het zoïdenoppervlak. Er wordt geen bultje gevormd proximaal van de opening.
