Het frontale oppervlak heeft marginale poriën en een enkele (Reptadeonella violacea) of dubbele (Reptadeonella insidiosa Jullien, 1903) centrale perforatie. De eerste soort is in België inheems, de laatste komt voor in diep water in het westelijk deel van het Kanaal en is te verwachten op grind tussen de zandbanken.
